Reference - 1st Kings 19: 21
"Then Elisha went to his team of oxen, killed them, cooked the meat, using the yoke as fuel for fire. He gave the meat to the people, and they ate it. Then he went and followed Elijah as his helper."
In reality I think about people in bondage, some have the yoke of alcoholism, promiscuity or whatever addiction, and from the story above I tend to think of Elijah as a representation of God or Jesus and Elisha a representation of us (humans or Christians), what happens before this verse; Elijah is sent by God to anoint Elisha and when Elijah calls Elisha, he is willing to follow him and does not think twice about following him.
Therefore getting this picture I tend to ask myself, what is my response to God's call? I also take a close look on the clause that states' "using the yoke as fuel for fire" and I get this revelation: that when God calls us and we respond willingly to His call as if we were expecting it ourselves, our yokes are thrown into His glory that the Bible says is a consuming fire, and those yokes are used to fuel us to serve those around with spiritual nourishment e.g. encouragement, advice to people around just like Elisha gave physical food in this case meat (which is a protein, and thinking more it's a protein, and we know that they mainly contribute in building mass in the body).
Having accepted His call and your yokes engulfed in our Lord's glory, then it is my belief that just as Elisha followed Elijah then so shall we follow the Shepherd of our souls, our Lord Jesus Christ.
