Not You

April 16, 2017
DEVOTION

God is the one who knows, not you. You might have your own plans and ideas of how things ought to go. Reality however, is that you can't be knowing more than God does; even in/about your own life. Such is the case when we go through something (trial/tribulation/temptation) and are so deep in it that we think God ought to handle it differently. This, I think, is because we don't get the point of the situation. Take the case of Peter in the washing of the disciples' feet scenario, he said 'Lord, I don't know what you think you're about to do but you're not washing my feet'. The reply should apply to any situation: 'if I do the do so, then you part in me.' So put it in yours, "If you don't overcome this, you'll have no part in me" or "If you don't go through this, you won't achieve anything close to the plans I have for you".

Remember,

Praying and reading the Bible reveals God's plan for you. It gets you in a position to know God's heart and will over your life so you can accurately respond to your own personal situation. You must be rested in Him to discern the particular lesson that's in the trial so don't just talk to God, listen to Him. You'll notice that Peter was a real talker and this quality (speaking before really listening) got him corrected a lot! When you listen, you'll notice that what's befallen you is tough and hard to bear but like Paul and James you'll be glad through it all because there is hope at the end.

[See John 16:20&21]

All of it, It breeds faith which is the guiding factor to seeing things as God sees them so allow yourself to listen and let God do His work in you so you can be able to do His work.

Never falter through the trial, you are more than a conqueror in Jesus name! Just like Peter, allow God to wash you-not only your feet but your hands and head as well. Such is the zeal we must have for God to work in us. For He knows the plan He has for us and through it all, there's a lesson to be learnt. And be patient too, the disciples weren't told the lesson of the washing feet until the last of them had been cleaned.

The song i encourage you to listen to as you digest this message is.
